Five Of The Best

 the Stenmark blog Lucinda Pitt

Lucinda Pitt knows beauty. The maestro makeup brand Napoleon Perdis currently demands her expertise as their VP Communication & Strategy, but she’s been the beauty guru on titles such as Harper’s Bazaar and Grazia as well as beautifying Elle magazine in her role as editor, so when someone this in-the-know is willing to share, it’s smart to listen!

Here, five beauty favourites at the top of her list.

SKIN Lifestream Ultimate Greens

I love a good lotion and potion but also believe in internal supplements for beauty that comes from within. A makeup artist friend swears by this superfoods supplement as the secret to complexion perfection. It’s a blend of nutrient-rich spirulina, barley grass, and chlorella and I’ve since made it part of my mornings and can see the difference; it’s definitely helped me get my glow on. Mix a spoonful with juice, water, or add to a smoothie – you get used to it.

MAKEUP Napoleon Perdis The One Concealer

The only time I’m not wearing concealer is when I’m asleep! I have multiple pots of The One Concealer stashed everywhere: car, handbag, desk drawer, etc. The super-flattering peach tone helps hide all traces of bad behaviour and genetic inheritance (read broken capillaries and pigmentation)! It’s also great pressed into the water line of the eyes as a flesh-toned eyeliner to whiten and brighten.

HAIR Kevin Murphy Smoothing Brush

Love Melbourne hair stylist Kevin Murphy … love his products and tools more. He gifted me this beautiful-quality, boar-bristle brush many years ago and it’s lived very happily in my handbag/s ever since. It’s firm enough to smooth and control flyaways but won’t break down your blow dry or sabotage that hard-earned volume. Consider it investment tressing.

BODY A+D Original Ointment

Sometimes it is the most basic things that are the best… A friend who lives in LA buys this cheap-as-chips nappy rash ointment in bulk for me at Target and sends it home.  It’s one of the best salves I’ve tried for desperately dry skin, scaly elbows, crusty heels, and cracked lips. In winter I use it nightly on my feet and then swaddle them in a pair of socks overnight. It really helps to prolong a pedicure.

FRAGRANCE Chanel No.19 Eau de Parfum

A past and now present signature scent. As a former beauty director I was quite committed to the more exotic, niche fragrances but I’ve long loved No.19 and wear it almost exclusively these days. Coco Chanel said that fragrance heralds your arrival and prolongs your departure. Too true… my team always know when I’m in the office, whether they can see me or not, thanks to the trail of No.19.
